| HEMANTHA BHIDE | Is it a broiler unit or layer unit or Hatchery? Public sector banks lend to this activity. Ascertain from the branch of the Bank whether poultry loans are given in that branch. You have to approach a branch where you already have an account and branch knows you. Discuss the project with branch officer and inform how much loan is required and how much your own fund will be deployed in the project. Normally banks give loan equal to 85% of total cost and you have to bear remaining 15%. Ascertain that branch will sanction the loan if all requirements are complied with. Get oral assurance from the branch first. Then the next step.Basic requirements are:1.Land on which unit is coming up. Is it Agri. land or land converted into non agril. land .Whether it is owned by the entrepreneur or taken on lease. If it is land taken on lease, banks will ask the land owner to join as co-borrower.2.Land has to be mortgaged to the lending bank as security for loan. All documents like R.T.C., Sale Deed ( if it is a purchased land), Sketch issued by revenue authority, latest land revenue paid receipt, 25 year encumbrance certificate are to be handed over to bank ( copies will suffice )which will refer these documents to Bank\'s legal adviser ( Advocate) for legal opinion. The legal opinion will tell the bank whether you have proper right over the land and whether land can be accepted as security. Bank has land valuers and land has to be shown to the valuer who will issue valuation report. This much is first step. Second Step: You have to prepare a project report covering all details of your project -Animal Husbandry Dept. will assist you in preparing this. Third Step: Prepare an estimate of cost for all investment involved - Construction of buildings, irrigation well, cost of chicks, poultry equipments, etc. This should include all the items of investment. Building estimate may be obtained from an Engineer . For Equipments, Chicks, birds, etc obtain quotation from the supplier of equipments, birds, chicks, Feed, etc. Final: Once the legan opinion, valuation report, project report, plan and estimate of the building, quotation for equipments, birds, chicks, etc are ready, you can submit these items to branch. Plan of the building has to be approved by village panchayath.Bank official will visit the site before sanctioning the loan.Your share of investment in project need not be in cash.
