| G.Radhakrishnan | We have brought in a new invention in irrigation management with the use of Structured Water Units, a technology imported from USA which is now being assembled/manufactured in India with certain key components being imported. We have done extensive research with Tamilnadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore, University of Horticulture Sciences, Bagalkot, Karnataka, Research at Central Cotton Research Institute, Coimbatore. All the research studies have shown significant improvements in reducing water consumption, increased yield, reduced use of fertilisers and pesticides and increased quality of crop. We have done a number of trials with progressive farmers as well. The major hurdle faced by us is the initial investment which the farmers are hesitant and in our considered opinion if some financial assistance can be given to the farmers to buy these units it will go a long way in bringing a new revolution in irrigation and farming in the country. We seek the guidance and assistance of NCPAH to take this forward.
