which Animal is good for dairy farming?

Dear All,
i am from Pune, maharashtra.
i have plan to start a dairy farming. but i am not sure which animal i select for dairy farming? and which is more profitable?
cow or buffalo.

pls help me.

i am also planning to start this business.now i have a mahisna buffalo having 7lit/day milk yield.murrah,surati,jafarabadi are good for high milk yield.

You can go with Murrah Breed which can we available in Haryana....
U can get 10 liters buffelo for Rs.50k to 60k
and 14 Liters buffelo for Rs.70k....and you have to bare transportation cost rs.7000/- per each cattle from Haryana to your place....

Dear Sandeep,

We have a very small dairy of 6 cows near Hosur (35kms from Bangalore).

We have all HF cows which give good amount of milk.

1 of the cow gives around 16 litres per day and need a lot of care.

Mainly look at the feed for the cow which is very important. They will need a lot of green feed.
