Beema bamboo is a Fast growing, Thornless, Thick walled, High density, Sterile bamboo with the average Gross Calorific Value of 4000 KCal with an ash content of 1 to 2 %, perennial and highly adapted to the range of climatic condition, both in tropical and sub-tropical conditions. Tissue cultured Beema Bamboo is identical, homogenous, pest and disease free, vigorous and superior clone.

Under intensive cultivation with the population of 1000 plants per acre, Beema Bamboo can be grown and get first harvest and biomass yield starts from two and a half years at 30 tons per acre and increases to 35 tons in the next year and stabilizes at 40 from 5th year onwards for more than 50 years. Once Beema bamboo is planted, it will keep growing for several decades with no more replanting. The profit from Beema bamboo starts from third year onwards and continues for more than 50 years.

Beema bamboo can be grown in all types of soil such as red soil, black soil, Sandy loam soil, Loam soil, Laterite soil and in all ranges other than pure sand.

Dear Sir,

It's really enlightening to know that Growmore has an excellent variety called Beema Bamboo on offer. However, as you know being economical to source sapling is the utmost important thing for any farmers, but to source them all the way from Hosur can greatly add-up to the overall costs which can only negatively impact farmers ability to undertake this variety making it viable only for rich landlords and corporate companies. Unless Growmore provides them with regional nurseries all over india, its remains as a sour grape for common farmers like me.
