I am kiran from dhule jalgaon I am interested in planting teak on my agricultural land. can you suggest what I should do and where I can get good quality teak plants. What is the procedure please suggest.

This is Hemant Gupta from Smriti Herbs & Biofuel Farm,Assam. As per your inquiry about teak plantation, Assam Teak is well known for its wood quality in India. We have ready Teak Saplings/Stumps in bulk.

I would like to suggest you better you go for Teak Stumps instead of Teak Saplings. Teak Stumps has better survival rate than saplings.

Saplings : 15 inches to 24 inches (1-2 year old) rate Rs. 8.00 per saplings
Stumps : 9-12 inches long - five finger size (1-2 year old) Rs. 5.00 per stumps

Dear Sir,

The Forest Departments supply teak saplings free of cost. they also pay you some amount for the initial expenses of planting. In Tamilnadu, Forest department supplies about 120 teap saplings peracre of land.(0.4 hectare of land). some states may supply more saplings also

Teak plantation

Hi,

Teak plantation is nice plantation and wise investment now a days.As per my observations & knowledge the selection of of the teak seedlings i. e well matured with straight trunk aged minimum 60 years and above of the mother trees seeds are best for showing.now a days its not possible .Because each & every farmer will go to the jungle and seek the tree and get the seeds.So is it easy to the all farmers & planters? For avoiding these practical difficulties
the agri sceintist invented the some hitech in arboriculture like cloning &Tissue culture.Now tissue culture teak saplings are availiable having with all salient features like uniforn growth ,early maturity and setting of heartwood more than 70% compared with root/stump culture.Among Tectona grandis(teak) somany breed are identifi4ed by the Indian forest Genetics deparment for better yields as zone wise .The NC-21 breed is very opt for nort & punjab .
