Dr. Vandana Sharma and Dr. Sandeep Kaur have done Ph.D in Microbiology are Assistant Professors at MCM DAV College for Women. Before initiating the process of production of Oyster mushrooms at laboratory scale in their college they visited the Agricultural University in Ludhiana. This project won the third award for the 'best citizen-led innovation' challenge by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Dr. Vandana says her area of interest in agriculture is mushroom cultivation, pesticide degradation using microorganisms and management of solid and liquid waste.
