Though commercial tissue culture has become synonymous with banana, there are several other potential plant species requiring improvement of productivity through various means including tissue culture.
We find there are several who have requirements to develop tissue culture production systems for their selected plant species but holding back since Research and Development efforts / infrastructure inputs are expensive and time taking resulting in longer gestation. In case they initiate their project, it would result in underutilized infrastructure. Importing cultures without supporting technical information and trained personnel is fraught with establishment problems too.
To address the above, we have decided to offer 30% of our laboratory infrastructure on experimental basis for such prospective companies / entrepreneurs who will be required to pay lease rental ONLY for that much of space they need to utilize in the laboratory plus share the actual expenses on the other components - manpower, utilities, consumables and other contingencies proportionately. In case any capital equipment is procured for the specific purpose of the project, it would be the property of the provider and shall be returnable on completion of the project. For Technical information and training of personnel etc. they would be required to pay separately, depending on the inputs.
This would be very economical arrangement and works as an incubator in private domain and would enable the planned projects to start in a better planned manner to allow soft landing of commercial production projects.
Cultures raised shall be the property of the company/entrepreneur towards the end of the development. Technical Services and training of personnel would be separately charged for depending on the inputs given.
Interested companies / entrepreneurs / may contact us. Depending on the projects, educational institutions also could be accommodated.
