Mr. Ashish Sharma grows exotic vegetables at his farm. He says –

See, most of the farmers don’t know where to sell. Basically they work hard but hardly make money. If government does well for the farmers, yes, its role must be increased.

In India Agriculture sector is yielding the main revenue for our Government but unfortunately our Government never concentrates on this sector. It should increase improvement and reforms in these sectors. Otherwise no agri land will be available for our forthcoming generation. We must beg foreigners for each and every product.

Mr. Harsh Majmudar, Deputy Manager- Marketing & Exports says -

Well, for development of any sector or industry, both government and private institutions have to go hand in hand. So like other sectors, unless private institutions take the lead, the government has to play its part. So instead of reducing or increasing role of government, more emphasis has to be on public-private partnerships which can lead to overall development of the segment.

Mr. Raju V.R.Palanisamy, Chairman cum Managing Director, Mithunram Groups says-

The Government may introduce progress-based incentives. For example, instead of giving cow on free of cost, they may give incentive of Rs.30 approximately per liter as incentive to the milk producing farmer. Also the government should announce farming as an Industry and not involve in controlling the prices.
