Red sanders , Sandalwood plantation latest laws any one knows?

Can any expert give me the latest law regarding the red sanders plantation, sandalwood plantation ? is govt giving any subsidy or encouragement for these plantations in patta lands ? I understand red sanders export is banned, then why would any one go for its plantation ? I am considering these high value timber crops , Hence I want to know legalities first before venturing into them.

Please contact the forestry department for legal formalities for growing sandalwood and red sanders.

I know there are govt departments for each of these questions raised in the forum, But the purpose of this forum is get that information easy on the net and which is in public domain. If any one either from forest dept or anyone conversant with the subject is requested to reply.

You can grow the red sanders & sandalwood plantation ?
Where from you to inform any govt. subsidy or encouragement?
You can grow these plantations in patta lands.
You are rightly understood that red sanders export is banned, But within the country it can be utilized under certain procedure.
Why you want to go for its plantation ?
You rightly considering these are high value timber crops.

Bye the by without you providing your profile how can you expect everything from others? Pls come up with complete details of you first to get some help from any one in the forum.

Dear Mr swamy,
Thank you for ur reply. I am located in Hyderaba, I have 20 acres land 75 km from hyderabad. My qualification is M.Tech(IIT) in electronics, age 48, semi retiring. I love to grow greenery particularly big trees, if they can fetch good income why not plant them ? However I want to understand the risks properly before committing to a long term ( 7..20 yrs) projects. I hope this makes you understand my background, if you can answer with any more points pls do , Thank you.

But, if you make perfect combination of plantation and appropriate execution of the same, then, they can fetch good income.

However pls note without taking risk, nothing can be achieved, accordingly,You do not think of 100 years of your own life, but think beyond that make combination of plants which can feed you and your next generations.

10 open wells are equivalent to one Pond.
10 Ponds are equivalent to one Lake.
10 Lakes are equivalent to one Reservoir.
10 Reservoirs are equivalent to one SON.
10 Sons are equivalent to one TREE.

Now you can understand the benefit of plantation.
with perfect match of plants you can generate income from 2nd year onwards till full of life and even more. Your land can give you the income equal ant to the income of 4 software engineers. Having faith and working properly for land will never fails you. Mother earth will give you handful

Hi,

Mr Narendra asked forum members regarding the govt.proccedures for cultivating the value added trees like sandal wood & red sanders.But no body answered for his question.Mr Swamy version is kindly drop the sandal & red sanders proposal.One man is stating that I have sandal wood seedlings ,and gentle man simply telling you ask forest dept. then we will go Electricity dept? So Narendra Garu please plant papaya in your land because the papaya yield starts on completion of six months.

eversince 2002 when govt lift ban on sandal plantation, lot of farmers have come forward to grow sandal,my concerns is about demands after 15-20 years , since maturity period is around 14- 18 years, if many farmers will start growing it , will not we see over production and hence steep fall in prices after 15 years
