Azolla

is a floating fern symbiotic blue green algae (named Anabena azollae). Azolla provide carbon source and growth atmosphere to algae.
In return the blue green algae fix the atmospheric nitrogen and supply to azollae which important nutrient for greens.
In short they live with symbiotic benefit.

Benefits of Azolla:

The Nitrogen is used for plants. So it is used as biofertilizer to agricultural crops mostly to rice.
In addition azolla has high protein content: So used as feed for Dairy, poultry, fisheries etc.

Azolla is grown in flodded water, andrequire organic manure nutrients.

For small scale azolla production:
1. Add 2 kg cow dung and 30 g of Super Phosphate mixed in 10 litres of water in 2 X 2 X 0.2 meter tubs
2. Make up water level up to 10 cm depth
3. Add 500g fresh azolla buy from Agricultural department or Agri universities
4. Wait for 15-20 days.
5. After that may harvest .5-1kg azollaevery day. Azolla grow rapidly and no need to seed again.
6. Add cow dung and micronutrient mixture every week.
7. Wash harvested azolla in fresh water to avoid the cow dung smell. Dry the azolla and is ready for feed or bio fertilizer.

Beginner may try with one or two tubs and calculate the economic feasibility under your set up.

We specialize in setting up of biofertilizer manufacturing plants.

We have developed & perfected our equipments & technology over the
years, to give our customers the benefit of maximized yield &
productivity of liquid biofertilizer from the manufacturing plant.

We have a proven track record of helping biofertilizer industries get
maximum viable cell counts in their product. Using our plant &
equipments, users have obtained at least 3 log counts more than what
they were earlier getting without our equipments (or when they were
using other manufacturers' equipments). Users having the best process
know how have obtained as high as 10^14 cfu/ml cell counts.

As a result, the return on investment made by the user in our plant &
machinery is very attractive, & the payback period is a matter of few
months.

Please contact us with for requirements. Thanks.
