Whats is Organic Milk?
Basic Question
Someone asked me this before and wanted Organic Milk.
I fail to understand what Organic milk means, after all cow is producing milk, not by some factory and chemical actions. This is only sales Gimmic, instead of saying milk for sale, you advertise Organic milk for sale and everyone is suddenly interested.
Sincere request, please dont confuse consumers by adding Organic tag to any item that you want to sell.
Even I have dairy farm producing 250 lts per day, I dont know what it takes to call it Organic Milk. As far as I am concerned, all milk produced by cows is organic.
Anyone wants to clarify, please do so.

Organic milk is not a concept. There is organic milk. There are many organic standards like Indian, european and American for crop production, processing, input approval and Animal husbandary. There is clearly mentioned how to maintain an animal farm organically.There are about 20 certification bodies to certify the products from these farm organic.You must be unaware about these things. If an Animal husbandary is certified organic its products also will be Organic. In the case of milk, the product certifies organic by checkig the land avilable to live the cattle, the live style of cattle, the food giving to the cattle (50% of food should be from own organic farm ), the medicnes given to the catlle, etc and also by the residue analysis of the milk. There is clearly mentioned in all Organic standards,ie. how to produce organic milk
(example). If the cattle farm and the product is certified as Organic by accridited certification bodies, the product is called "Organic Milk".
