NREGS has Artificially acquired Labour Problem

Register
I have been observing the side-effects of NREGS

Migrant labour has stopped migration and they stick to their home-towns/villages.
This has compounded the Labour shortage problem

The food-grain rates for BPL-card holders & hiked DAILY WAGES makes it EASY to run a household for the local-farm-labour.

Thus the local farm labour have HIKED the DAILY-WAGES.
The Local-Farm Labour have started working only 2-3 days per week.
Local-Farm Labour works in SHIFTS of 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and Overtime from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. .

Guys how many of you feel that this observation is correct ?

yes you r right but in most of villages there is no work in farms like paddy areas, no industries- in chandrapur district mul & saoli taluka there is no industries and no other work there fore they want nrega scheme. The food grain rates for bpl card holders is very low govt. Was not serious about farmers and there grain rates.

Nregs

This Scheme has been at the fore front of the present government.

The reason for the government to formulate this scheme was to uplift the poor village population and generate employment in the rural India.

Sounds very rosy and one of a kind scheme that has no drawbacks.

The people who formulated NREGS are the ones sitting in Delhi with their AC turned on and without any knowledge as to how to implement a good scheme.

Their blanket implementation of this scheme has grave implications on rural India and its labour force.

1.If the rural work force is now sucked into this scheme who is going to work in the Fields. How could they have not taught of this?

2. In most places that i have visited in Tamil Nadu the work done under NREGS is a total waste of Indian tax payers money and most of the workers just sit through the day for wages.

3.With the cost of labour having nearly tripled in the last two years combined with the drastic increase in cultivation costs most of the short term crop growers have started cultivating lesser Land. The effects to this can already be felt with the increase in basic vegetable costs.

4. Making 'aam aadmi’ the primary focus of the government, Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee allocated a sum of Rs 39,100 crore in the budget for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

with so much money involved in this scheme the government could have at least taken measures to see that the money is utilized to create assets in that particular village thus bringing about a real change in the rural economy.

5. With the rural workforce drawn into this scheme the mechanization and moderation of agriculture has become all that more important. But the government is content with only National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

This scheme is being implemented with only the rural votes in mind and they don't seem to care about any thing else.

But the day is not far away when their very own rosy scheme backfires and stares at them.

India being a very large country with diverse needs and policies one blanket implementation of a scheme which is going to shake the backbone of your economy AGRICULTURE is sure to have its repercussions.

Agree with you.

People born in 18th fllor an above FLATS seem to be in Bureaucracy.
The Bureaucracy of India has got nothing to do with ground realities.
They just make SCHEMES to please the RULING PARTY and make it POPULAR.

Poor farmers have to pay the price.
In my opinion, the NATION will pay the PRICE in LONG-RUN.

Right

Govt. form this scheme beacuse govt. need votes, and for votes this is nothing they can sale our nation too in very easy way.

Now a days not a farm or other industries are suffering from this scheme, also a local farmer are in trouble coz at the time of cutting crops they dont get a labor even in 100 Rs.

YOu know what people are doing in NREGA, they start work from 9 PM after an hour they do rest and enjoy . They dont need to work in this scheme coz their supervisiors are also involved in this scheme.

Solution : No Solution At All.
