I have miserably failed to make a tonne of coir pith compost. I have used locally available coir pith; spread them in a layer of 10 cm height, sprinkled mushroom seeds which I procured from Kerala agricultural university outlet at Kanjangaad, layered another layer of pith, sprinkled a kilogram of urea and repeated this process ten times to a height of one metre. I have also kept the mass moist . It was kept i the open and then and thus later drenched by Mansoon showers. Even after 4 months, it is still pith only. No composting has taken place.
Need help: (1) Can someone advise me on what went wrong and how to salvage it (2) Can I see demonstration of pith compost making somewhere
Regards
