Gir is one of the best milkers among indigenous cattle.
The breed is also known as “Bhodali”, “Desan”, “Gujarati”, “Kathiawari”, “Sorthi”, and “Surati”.
The breeding tract of the breed includes Amreli, Bhavnagar, Junagadh and Rajkot districts of Gujarat.
It’s more practical to hire an experienced person from those area to teach and train locally available farm workers about Gir cow management .

They usually charge 25-30K , food , to and from railway travel allowance short duration ( 1 month ) training .

For balanced ration you can buy Personal Digital Assistant a mobile based software to help dairy owners decide a balanced ration with locally available cattle feed resources .

For milking you can buy a indigenous milking machines of different capacities starts with Rs 20,000 to 50, 000

Thanks for your kind suggestion. I will try this option. The milking machine is an interesting option. Is it successful using machines for GIR cows? Since Desi cows are very sensitive, I juaj want to know about the surity of using machine based milking.

Visionary Brazilian had taken hundred of Gir cows breed before century from GIR area of Saurashtra, and pedigree bull from Shree Krishanasinghji Maharaj, king of Bhavanagar State, Saurashtra.Gujarat
Now Gir is spread all over the Brazil and most of the milking is done by machine in Brazil .
Before buying a milking machine check the pros and cons i.e. time efficiency , cleaning and chemicals etc .

Temperament wise Gir breed are very social and love being with humans.
They adore being brushed and scratched on their big pendulous dewlap, around the heads and between the back legs.
They are very gregarious and at night form a circle very close together with their calves sleeping under their necks.
When a close association develops between the cow and its owner/ caretaker , cow could be capable to react to owner's command .

So source a good , non-aggressive dairy farm worker/s with a considerate, calm and positive attitude towards cows which can lead to 20% higher milk yields over a handler with a poor a, aggressive attitude.

The behaviour of the cow handler / farm worker has an enormous impact on cow behaviour, welfare and performance.
Negative behaviours of the handler / caretaker farm worker will produce more fearful or aggressive cows and positive , calm behaviour of the handler / caretaker farm worker will lead to a relaxed herd of cows that are easier to handle.
