Need info on Sandal wood plants cultivation

Hello All,

This is Vijay reddy. I am from Andhra pradesh.

I have some good land for cultivation and from the ages it has been using to grow cotton, maize, mirchi etc. We have good water and transportation facility.

Currently i have some plans of growing some commercial plants like sandalwood.


Type of soil i have :-1.block soil
2.Sandy/muddy soil
Temp:-avg annual temp :35C
avg summer temp :41C
avg winter temp :25C

What i would like to know is..

-What type of soil is required to grow sandal wood plants.
-Rough cost estimation per acre (plants/seeds+Weeding/fertilizer+irigation+security+Mortality rates)
-Leagal/loan issues and risks(if any) in marketing

I have gone through few papers/blogs which are available in net and got some info.

But i am looking for an advice/suggestions from a real time experience people who have tasted and come across the risks of sandalwood plants cultivation.
