Congratulations!! for planning fish farming,
firstly before starting please check on some basics,such as soil,water and market availability,
sincerely the availability of market is very important,
analysis of soil and water is important which helps in selecting the breed to cultivate,you can consult the fisheries department of your state for analysis and help,
anyways practical is more important than theory,,

Dear keerthigowda,

You can grow all the 6 Carp Varieties namely Catla, Rohu, Mrigal, Silver Carp, Common Carp & Grass Carp or you can grow Murrel & Catfish as well.

The Carp varieties normally takes 6 to 8 months depending on the fingerlings you introduce in the pond.

Pricing depends on how you sell, is it direct marketing to the retailer or wholesaler.

Please note that you can make Rs. 50,000 to 1 lakhs per acre minimum.
