Hi friends, I am intending to provide natural fencing for my coconut farm. Please guide me about the various varieties available and where I can purchase the seeds. I am located in Tamilnadu.

Natural fencing live fencing - hedge plants can be planted around the land such as :

For garden - Bougainvillia and other flowering hedges
Agricultural land - Karonda, Devils Backbone etc

The natural fencing of the agricultural land is good producing the main utility crops.The following spices are very fruitful results in
nature fencing like kiluvai(Commiphora caudata/Burseraceae) .Its available in private pata land and wild forest area.

I think fencing is the best way to provide protection to your fields,gardens,farms and other places anyhow. It is the strongest kind of protection and is composed of the right quality of materials be it wood fencing or or vinyl fencing.

Alternatively please take permanant fencing with granite pillars/concrete poles or iron anglers etc with barbed wire or chain link mesh for projecting the farm.

Or also can think of laying solar fencing

Dear Sri nsk70,

Please take up plantation of Karonda plants ( in Telugu it is Vakkaya) which has spines tresspassing is not possible for animals . More over you can get Koronda crop (False Cherry in ice creams) mostly used for pickle and preparation of curry with dal)

Or Take up Malaysian Tamrind (Sweet Tamarind) which can be grown as hedge and pruned for controlling growth which grows largely.
