Mint is normally planted on waste land or as intercrop. It requires damp condition. Mint is propogated by roots. The leaves yield mint oil which is extracted by steam distillation every 10 days. There is no subsidy on mint plantation.

Mint farming

Your climatic conditions are most suited to mint cultivation.Good fertile land and assured irrigation are pre-requisite for successful cultivation of mints. Now it is too late.you may think for next yr cropping (January12). For sucker/stolen production, process will start in the end of August. This u can do to minimize the cost on seed/planting material.
Thanks
