Milky mushroom cultivation

Hi All,

I am interested in cultivating Milky and button mushroom in Mangalore, India. Please advice which is suitable for the weather prevailing in my place, so that i could reap the benefits from the right crop.

Appreciate also ont he spawn part of it as to where good spawn is readily available.

I did contact the local agriculture dept. and they do not provide it. So I thought let me check on this site who could provide so.


I have been contacted by Mr Dathu and here he explains the following:

Our price for 1Kg MILKY OR OYSTER MUSHROOM SPAWN IS Rs.80/-

4.5kg block = 25 beds,
25 beds = 25 * (2kg fresh milky mushroom) = 50kg fresh mushroom average from each bed,
one square feet = 2 beds

cost per bed will be Rs.20/- or Rs.22/-
