Malai Vembu(Melia Dubia) cultivation

I'm planning to plant trees in my farm... the soil type is Red loam on top and loose porous rocky base at the bottom(chattu mannu)... The Farm is located in Namakkal district(tamil nadu)... SInce the area is dry and mostly prone to drought, I want to choose an Optimal Tree for plantation based on the soil type... I have a few in list

Melia Dubia (malai vembu)
Sandal Wood ( but security issuses as logging may happen with our lives under threat)

Labour requirement is also a necessary condition...
please help me to choose the right one and give me some other alternatives if available....
