dear all,
Efficient machine milking depends on following factors:-
1. Optimum vaccum level i.e. 38 - 42 mercury level.
2. optimum pulsation ratio, generally 4:1 or 60 pulse/min
3. Quality of liners and clusters.
No mannual milking machine is good enough to ensure good and complete milking hence motor operated machines are only used in organized dairies which are further divided into 2 categories:-
1. Fixed pipeline bucket milking system (preffered option)
2. Mobile machines (require more maintenance and suitable for small herd of less than 20 cattle)
Fixed pipeline milking machines are available in following capacities:-
1. 2 clusters (herd up to 30-35 cattle)
2. 4 clusters (herd up to 35-60 cattle)
3. 6 clusters (herd up to 60-100 cattle)
Following companies are providing good tried and tested milking machines:-
1. Westfalia surge GEA (Germany)
2. Delaval (Sweden)
3. Vansun (India)
Out of above I have been using alfa laval (now delaval) since 1982 and Westfalia since 2004. I strongly recommend for westfalia machines as they are more robust, maintenance free and they have an excellent after sales support system which delaval often fails to provide to its customers.
