Khata & Paani

Hello,

My name is kirthi and just bought some land in mandya,Karnataka.
I would like to know the difference between having a khata transferred and a paani.

Here the land lord says the paani is not required and a khata is enough.

And also would like to know what is this greenbelt and yellow belt.

If anyone could give me an answer to this would be of great help.

Dear Kirthi,
After purchase of any land, Transfer of Khatha to the property is required for having right & title on the said property. Once Khatha is transfered in your name, then Pahani will be effected in your name. Tahashildar office will carryout all these activities.

Green & Yellow belts marked to restrict non agricultural activities in marked area.
