IT to Integrated Farm

Hi All,

I am Karthikeyan. I am a software developer. I live in chennai and also my native is also chennai. I want to start a organic and integrated farm in the future.
The future may 3 or 5 or 10years . But I am pretty much sure that I want to start it ASAP. I would like you to answers my question.
The questions

1. Which district in Tamilnadu is the best to district to do agriculture ? Because the recent floods had affected kadalur district entirely. Yes I understand natural calamities are non predictable but even I would like to know the places where natural calamities are very rare.

2. I am going to get a agricultural for lease. What is the approxumate rate for this.

3. How much land will it require to organic and integrated farm.

4. I am also going to concentrate more milk production .

5. Where to sell the milk , vegetables, fruits ?

6. If we are going to sell our products by our own. What are the things that we need to.

7. How many cows, goats, hens to start with.

8. Which crop to start with ? What are the various crops that i can do and what are there market ?

9. I am very much clear that i need to gain knowledge and to do practice on farming. Is there any place that I can go on weekend and work to gain my experience.

[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - Any dist is fine. Grow crops based on the conditions of that particular dist. Best is always near the Westside or Southside of Tamilnadu.
2. I am going to get a agricultural for lease. What is the approxumate rate for this.
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - If you go for lease land, you can only grow short term crops. If you want to try your hands, go for this. 1 acre = 10,000 Rs per year or more depending on the place.
3. How much land will it require to organic and integrated farm.
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - You can do organic and integrated farming even with 1 acre.
4. I am also going to concentrate more milk production .
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - 1 Acre can be utilized for growing 5 Cows only.
5. Where to sell the milk , vegetables, fruits ?
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - Locally as much as possible. It depends on the acreage as well as distance to the nearest town or city.
6. If we are going to sell our products by our own. What are the things that we need to.
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - You can get to these at a later point of time.
7. How many cows, goats, hens to start with.
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - Atleast 1 Cow to start with for organic way.
8. Which crop to start with ? What are the various crops that i can do and what are there market ?
[Padmanabhan Ganesan] - Depends on the soil and water availability etc.
9. I am very much clear that i need to gain knowledge and to do practice on farming. Is there any place that I can go on weekend and work to gain my experience.
