Hello,
I am from western maharastra. A village in thane rural district. I need to know if it is against law to make biodiesel at home for my farm machines. And can I share that with my fellow villagers for farming. As the feedstock will be from home made oil. Any input is welcome.
Thanks

It is not illegal to make bio diesel. Also, unlike diesel, there is no restriction on storage of bio diesel.

Mr. kapoor thanks for the post. But as i gathered on the net that somewhere in 2009 govt of india banned all the bio diesel companies to produce any fuel apart for the govt companies. that too they fixed a price at which they can supply. not to mention the quoted price was so low that all the companies decided to shut the shop. my concern is that if i manage to produce, i dont want govt. officers knocking on my door asking for money. hope you can throw more light on same.
thanks

Dear Sir,

Pleased to note your comments , on Bio fuel.

I feel you have considerable knowledge of Bio fuel/Bio Diesl, manufacturing,
my question for which I need calcification is whether Jatropha feedstock or semi processed
oil can be used in wick stoves(available in the market) for cooking instead if kerosene and
in oil lamps many poor cannot afford to buy kerosene these days.

Your comments appreciated
