information on asparagus racemosus required

hello,
the asparagus what we find in the wild, is it asparagus racemosus (thannier vittan kelangu,neer vittan kelangu in tamil,shatawari).
are its roots edible(in what form are the roots to be eaten).can it be used in dry form.
what are its medicinal properties.

Asparagus

It is found in wild state. Dry roots can be used. Its Rasayana drug in our Traditional System of Medicine (Ayurveda netc), mainly used as tonic. satawari is used for increasing the milk secretion after child birth. It can also be fed to cattles for increasing out put of milk.The plant is cultivated in several parts of India.
