Hello All,

I have few questions on importing of Bio Diesel.

Is it permitted?

What is the customs duty imposed?

What is the quality standard to look for?

Also, Please clarify,

Can we export Bio Diesel?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Why import? Why not join local Indian producers?

Hello All,

My ref: MIET no 505330, IEng no 373111.

Dear jm_emu,

I don't understand this idea why you want to import biodiesel into India in the first place!
Do you not think this is simular to like "bringing coals to New Castle?"
Perhaps you may have another look if you will at the threads / posts of for example K1jatrophaoils in this forum.

Import of Biodiesel

Freinds!

India is heaven always for imports and Palm oil is an example.
If you look at the present commercial productions of Biodiesel most of these guys are stranded in Malaysian ports begging for palm Stearine, Palm fatty acid distillate and even a clever blended crude palm oil to brain wash the custom people here.

One fellow even went to sign a contract farming of oil palm and many of the view to set up palm extraction units in Malaysia itself.
( May be a scam)
If this is the case, I reckon! we shall better import crude petroleum itself for another century.

Shame!!!!!
We need to understand what the Biodiesel is first before imagining imports and of course the Govt is very keen to allow any imports in the name of scarcity......
Biodiesel is not an exception.

Bhadrinath.
