Help to start export business(agri)

Hi friends,

Let me introduce myself...Am Vijay, currently working in one of leading It company in India... I always had interest in starting some kind of business in my hometown as I didn't had much interest in IT industry. I was just googling when I came accross APEDA site which helps in promoting agri business.

Also came to know that there is one ECGC(Export Promotion guarantee council) which has certain schemes for starting an export business. but these sites are not much clear for a newbie.

So my question here is
1) how can I enter into agri export business./any other export business.

2) anyone who knows very well about APEDA , ECGC and how it works...

3) can suggest me some option which has minimal investment and a good profit.

It will be more helpful if I get guidance from you guys....Thanks in advance..

Dear Vijay,

You need to do the following:

1. Register a company / start a sole proprietorship company (in international business they give more weightage to pvt. ltd. company than a sole proprietorship) - You may either do it on own or go through your CA. For a pvt. ltd. company the expense should be between Rs. 15K - 20K.

2. Get a IEC registration (Import - Export Code) in the name of the company.

3. Decide about your products

4. Register on Apeda & other Trade websites & get your website done.

I am clear with the first 2 points which u gave..

could u pls explain me aboout the flow...ie.. how APEDA helps us?....also it would be helpful if u explain me with an example.( like how we purchase it and how we can export it like that...on the whole how the whole process goes on...)....

Thanks for the reply..Yes even I thought of writing to APEDA but don't know how far they will explain me. Because I am very new to this... Alll seems to be Greek and Latin to me...thts y I posted here.... It would be more helpful if u can share ur knowledge if u know about this agri exports....
