Everyone seems to be talking about Boer and Tellicherry cross online. Apparently, most people are using both the breeds for breeding purpose and very few animals go for meat purpose.
My question is are we heading towards a bubble in a few years with these breeds ?

I do not think boer or tellicherry is being consumed in retail in TN...Can anybody share their experience ?

Many are buying BOER or Tellicherry male to cross with local breed in TN. Offspring is being sold for meat. Advantage is offspring is of higher weight.

Boer goat - Thalacherry marketing

Dear Savera Farms,
Your question is very valid and important about boer meat
did you got your answer for it

"I do not think boer or tellicherry is being consumed in retail in TN...Can anybody share their experience ? "

I don't think meat consumers ask for a particular breed while buying mutton. When the goat is unskined, no one is aware of what the breed would be. The advantage of having tellicheryxboer is for the same feeding cost, you get a better weight and quick fattening when compared with country goats.

Siva
