You can maintain stall fed goat unit provided you raise fodder crops in atleast 3 -5 acres . Pl give the following information.
1. How may goats you are going to rear initially.
2. Land area available.
3.Water facilities

Dear Mr Ananda Rao,

Parsonally interested in animal husbandry now trying to make up my plans to start a Goat Farm (Meat Production) and following are some of the basic guidelines.

1. Being a Keralite from the southern part of the state need to locate the farm in Tamilnadu closer to Kerala Boarder.
2. For the sake of study let us fix the farm to handle 500 parent goats.
4. 'Stall Fed' policy to adapt.
5. High / Cross Breed to maintained.
5. Farm to be maintained with high level of quality.
6. Records keeping / administration etc to be managed with an efficient ERP Computer System.

With the above guidelines can we develop a project plan which shoud consist of all elements required to start a goat farm.

If interested and doable please advise your recomendations / comments.

Why you are going to down, where are you from. You can sellect dharmapuri or krishnagiri dist of tamil nadu land for goat farm may be available below 3 lac per acr with sound water. Lot of pick-up vehilce (bolero) operating every day to feed the agri products and goat/dairy product to bangalore. Bangalore is a best place to feed any number of loads a day

Since both the districts are closed to Bangalore, the value of the lands will go up
