Milk@MEx : Software for improving Dairy Farm Profitability
Dairy farmer is NOT AWARE of the Profit & loss account ; as he does not pay attention to the Feeding & management which actually accounts for more than 80% expenses in any Farm. At the same time Treatment costs are less than 2% of the total costs; still the farmer pays more attention to TREATMENT than Management & Feeding.
What is essential for the farmer to know that in case he is spending Re.1/- per day more than required; then in a 50 Buffalo/cow Farm then he is likely to incur a LOSS of Rs. Minimum Rs.22,500/- in one Lactation Cycle ( which is minimum 450 days or 15 months).
Milk@Mex is designed to give the farmer an idea of his input Vs Output costs i.e. how much he has spent & how much he is getting back on any given day.
Based on this Farmer can devise various strategies to improve milk PRODUCTIVITY.
In this the farmer has to fill in details in 4 parts which takes hardly 5 minutes. On clicking CALCULATE we can get the information on:
1. The money accrued from sale of milk
2. Other income (of Manure, sale of calves, Gunny bags etc) from the farm.
3. Daily expenses which are visible.
4. Monthly expenses: not seen but are cutting into our profits due to animals not getting
Pregnant etc.
5. Daily /yearly profit per animal along with the expenses thereof.
We can also know if we are losing in the business & then necessary steps can be taken to correct these. It will also show : how much difference (in terms of money) it would make & how it can be reduced over a period. We can also compute that if we use any product for improvement then how much milk yield will be required to offset the extra costs etc.
