I am interested in starting up with dairy farming. i wanted to first start with 10cows.
so i need a detailed report of the following
1.Land required
2.Cost per cow
3.civil works such as shed for the cows , house for labour, water sources, food for the cattle, verterinary, generators, maintainance, maing Gober-gas from the dung
etc.
4.Working Capital
5.Loan facility
6.Total cost of the Project.

So i hereby request yourself to provide me the information so that i can start at the earliest.

Hi Suman,
To start 10 animals' dairy farm
1. land required - 2 acre (including fodder cultivation)
2. cost per cow - Rs.35000 to 40000
3. civil works, water source and others need to be discussed, but the cost per cow can be approx.Rs.25000
4. working capital needs discussion, approx. - Rs.10-12 per litre milk production
5. Commercial Banks do have loan facility
6. Total cost for the project for 10 cows (without working capital) - approx. Rs.6.5 tto 7 lakhs.
But it needs a detailed discussion before taking the decision, so that if there is any need for expansion, mechanization requirement in future etc. I am a dairy consultant based at Bangalore, if you need any information contact...

Do have a look for a Small Scale Dairy Farm Project Report as per NABARD guidelines which can be customized as per your needs i.e. you can change the number, milk yield & cost of animals, sale price of milk, bank loan rate, repayment period etc. and observe its impact on profitability in the spreadsheet.

Nabard's project report doesn't show DSCR, Cash flow projections, fund flow projections and projected balance sheets. I wonder how project viability is ascertained without important ratio analysis.
