Varieties : Kalimpong Mauve , Balanagari, Washington ,Purandhar, NMK-1( Golden ) ,NMK-2&3 , Sugar Apple , Thai lessard , Pink's Mammoth , Arka Sahan , African Pride , Barbados , Red Sitaphal , British Guinea, Mahaboobnagar , Saharanpur , Kakarlapahad , Atemoya , Island Gem and Ram Phal (
Air layer graft : Rs. 75-200 ( ex location ) each , Seed propagation feasible .
Spacing : 4x4, 5x5 , 6x6 mts or approx. 400 nos trees per ha .
Harvesting : 2 year ( 4-6 MT / acre )
Cultivation cost : 60-75k / acre / annum ( exclu of initial orchard develpment cost , and recurring costs i.e. manpower etc. )
Organic cost : 70-80 k / acre / annum ( exclu of initial orchard develpment cost , and recurring costs i.e. manpower etc. )

Balangar is the suitable variety available at Sangareddy fruit Research Station. NMK One from Kolhapur very good variety developed by a farmer.
The cost of of plant will be Rs.30-40 at Sangareddy, at Kolhapur it may be double the cost

Cost of cultivation will be around Rs.60,000 to Rs.70000/- per acre

If 4x3 feet distance is followed 333 plants per acre can be accomodated .Total 6660 Plants are required

Infrastructural facilities like fencing , irrigation facilities , labour quarter etc

40 % subsidy is available from the National Horticulture Board on the total unit cost for 20 acres if loan is availed from Bank

which variety and location ? Propagations saplings of all the varieties are not available at one source . Majority of nurseries in India handle with one or two varieties only which are popular in the local agro climatic conditions . Some nurseries having ceretified mother plants of different varieties do supply saplings with advance order only .

NMK-1 is crossed from Atemoya .
After putting money , effort and time , if the consumers thumps down the fruit taste in comparison to local varieties i.e. Balanagar, or Mahboobnagar ?!
Have you ever tasted Atemoya fruit ?
Atemoya has rubbery texture , faintly tart in taste and more flesh and no aroma .
Balanagar, or Mahboobnagar custard apples having custardy taste .soft texture and aroma
