Hello,
We are starting with the export of Fresh Vegetables and Fresh Mushroom Exports to the USA.
Looking for a consultant who can guide us with the process to execute this smoothly.

Please contact on rohit@indianagripreneurs.co.in or call /whatsapp on 8120120575
Due to strict USFDA laws and regulations it's very hard to export Indian fresh vegetables or mushroom from third party supply . Fresh vegetables , fruits from third world countries mostly gets detained or rejected by USFDA due to high % or pesticide residue and heavy metals presence . Fruits like mango , banana gets rejected at port due to presence of sulpher dioxide .
Canned mushroom can be exported ,if you have your own mushroom unit .

We are growing the produce with organic practice in the upper hills so pesticide residues wont be present. we are also testing the produce and giving a report confirming the same.

There are numerous reasons for agriculture contaminants without direct application on plants . some are mentioned below-
1. Organic cultivation with hybrid inorganic mother seed : hybrid mother seeds are coated with insecticides .
2. Polluted surface and ground water for agriculture : plants absorb contaminants present in polluted ground and surface water . As per CPCB seven rivers of Himachal Pradesh are critically polluted .When it rains, water interacts with these toxic chemicals which then leach into groundwater sources or washed into the nearby waterways. Consequently, the chemicals contaminate waters and the soils, and soil microorganisms plus beneficial insects are killed.
3. Buffer zone : buffer zone is an area located between a organic production operation and an adjacent land area that is inorganic to prevent contact by prohibited substances applied to adjacent land areas .
Most of the organic agro producers unwilling to spare a buffer land for organic cultivation .
4.However much animal manure and fertilizers are not directly toxic, they usually contain excess chemical nutrients especially phosphorus and nitrogen. They make up the main causes of nutrient pollution from agricultural sources.
5.Manures and Biosolids frequently contain nutrients including nitrogen, carbon, phosphorus . Furthermore, because they are industrially processed, they may also have within them contaminants such as personal care products (PPCPs) and pharmaceuticals. These products have been found in human and animal bodies and are believed to have negatively health impacts to wildlife, animals, and humans. Agricultural pollution becomes even harder to manage with such types of organic contaminants.
6.Livestock alone are substantial contributors to agricultural pollution. The feeds and unnatural diets fed to livestock are significant sources of greenhouse gases and nutrients from excretory waste. Nitrogen-based compounds such as nitrogen and ammonia are potential sources of gaseous emissions.
7. Heavy metals : The primary agricultural inputs including pesticides, industrial by-product wastes, some fertilizers, and specific agrochemical products contain traces of heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead. When these substances accumulate in the soil or waste dump, they can be washed into waterways or leach into ground water sources or get absorbed by plants .

Invasive pests, weeds, and diseases do not directly cause agricultural pollution. However, because of the persistent and growing number of pests, weeds, and diseases which can negatively impact crop yields, farmers resort to the persistent use of pesticides, herbicides, and other agro-chemicals to combat this nightmare. As a result, increased uses of these chemical products persist in destroying the soils, animals, plants, waters, and wildlife based on the agricultural pollution intricacies,

Why not go for USDA / NOP organic certificate , only through SGS ?!
TC ( transaction certificate is mandatory for export consignment )
USDA ( packing ) certificate is also mandatory .

Strongly suggest Not to go for organic Claim, Label, Cert'*

Find out current rejections of such Organic certified produce being not acceptable in EU, between 8-13/05/2019!

EU imposed a temporary ban on Alphonso mangoes from India in 2015 for fruit fly infestation in the fruit .

APEDA has already launched online traceability system in 2015 in 6 categories – MANGO , GRAPE , VEGETABLE , POMEGRANATE , BETAL LEAF , CITURS FRUIT to facilitate testing and certification process in compliance with EU standards .
Only farmers or farms registered with Traceability system are eligible for processing commercial export consignments to EU

Traceability system collects , stores and reports forward and backward traces and quality data assurance provided by the stakeholders ( grower , exporter , laboratories , pro sanitary certificate etc. within the specific agro produce supply chain in India .

The importation of mangoes into USA from India is regulated under the ‘Fruits and Vegetables Quarantine, 7 CFR 305 and 319.
It’s 15 step process .

Registration of orchard
Pre-harvest orchard survey by third party
Harvesting and Marking of fruit crates
Transport of fruits to packing facility
Registration of packing house
Pre-processing inspection by third party
Post harvest processing
Marking and Packing
Quality inspection by third party
Transport of fruits to irradiation treatment
Approval and Treatment certification
Preclearance inspection and certification by third party
Phytosanitary certification
Transport of shipment to airport
Loading and sealing

Hey buddy,
How many shipments of Mango have you done to any country with/without required Protocols?

What is your understanding about procurement from notified orchards.?

How many exporters of fresh fruits from India extended an Indemnity bond to the

Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage | GOI
ppqs.gov.in

and why?

Organic certification proved to be Utter Waste in India as most of the cert' agencies knowledge in Practical on the subject are big cypher!

There are many nitty gritty on the subject involving all these departments, I do not intend to open the can of Worms
