Basmati rice from Dehradun is renowned all over the world for its size, aroma and taste. It derives its name from the cities name itself.

There are many other varieties of aromatic rice available in the market but no variety can match the rich aroma of Dehradooni basmati.

Technical Details
Maturity Time - Generally around 125 to 135 days.

Average Yield- 2500-2600 kg/ha.

Altitude - It is grown at an altitude of about 400 to 600 meters above the sea level.

Grain Size- 6.8 mm when uncooked but elongates to 13.09 mm after cooking.

Botanical Name - Oriza Sativa

Locally Known As - Dehradooni Basmati

Varieties - Type-3 and Traditional Dehradooni
