Borewell pump problem

Dear Members,

I have a bore-well at my farm, which is giving me some problem.
It gives water for 15 minutes, then we don't get water for next one hour.
After one hour we get water for 15 minutes.
I want to run this during night without stopping.
My question is that if I run continuously without stopping after 15 minutes, will there be any problem.
Please advice.

Thanks in advance.
Siddhartha.

Dear Sir, I am not competent technical guy to answer this question. But still i want to reoly what I think is right.

a) The motor coil will get burnt if you run the pump without any load and water. Please donot run the motor if there is no water.

b) If your problem is "who will switch off and switch on" in the night, please go for some solution on automatic motor starters using electronic circuit boards. There are many companies who are manufacturing and customising solutions.

c) You may think of increasing the depth of boring. Or if the boring is already deep, increase the water intake pipe length.

Hello

Have you checked the availability of water, if segregation of water is less it will have such problem, you may call for a water test mostly the local electrician will do, they will bring extra motor to check

Hello there,
The bore-well at your farm gives water for 15 minutes, then you don't get water for next one hour.
After one hour we get water for 15 minutes, right.
you did not mention the depth of bore and about the type of your pump, submersible pump or compressor pump or jet one and how much horse power?
This clearly shows you bore well yield is very less, means the amount of water you are pumping out is not equals the amount of water replenished by aquifer.

If water is not there and your motor starter is ordinary one will burn in dry run. So you need to use protective devices like auto controlled motor starter which will sense the load current and switch of the motor. prevent it from burning.

you can go for compressor motors of lesser capacity with lesser dia pipes than the existing one. for calculation this you need to approach a specialist. Even a good bore well rig can calculate your approximate yield by forcing compressed air inside.

Re boring in existing bore will cost you more, if you need more water better find another water source and make a fresh bore.

Thanks.
The pump capacity is 5HP. The depth of bore-well is 280 feet.
Its a submersible pump.

Hope you answer your questions.

Siddhartha.

hi
i have a borewell, whose depth is 563 ft. i put 26 pipes of 20 ft each = 520 ft and 10hp motor. it pumped water for 1/2 hour of 2". later it pumps on for 10 seconds full 2" and 10 seconds only one or half inch. so i installed one more pipe of 20 ft. after this the situtation has worsened further. now i get water only for 10 minutes of 2" and later 10 seconds full 2" and one minute 1/4 inch water. also there is always water flowing/falling sound in the pipe.
is there any leakage? if yes, can it be plugged.
any suggestion/advise is highly appreciated.

thanks
