Biodiesel usage in India.

Dear sir!

Its all started in S.rly Perambur some five years back.
Then the massive ad. from Daimler chrisler(Mercedes) running a car with jatropha oil filled and subsequently all the campaigners in Biodiesel surrendered to oil plam based Biodiesel which is the cheapest in the world today.

You shall see few transport bus companies using Biodiesel in South India apart from railway here and there.

There are also news about Tatas and Ambanis in this buisness.
Neverthless, there is no recognition for Biodiesel trade and I wish you be very careful before involving yourself in a kind of research.

useage of Biodiesel.

Dear friend!

I have used B100 widely in many applications ranging from gensets to LCVs and also in stationed equipments like Hitachi and JCBs.

The result was so exciting but we found the following minor problems while using B100.

a.The feedstock such as animal fat of fish oil odour was not acceptable to consumers.
b.The unwashed, unfiltered Biodiesel did trouble the Filters both air and Diesel and in some cases a small blockage in the Nozzles.

d.The most worrying factor was one has to check up the Filter system in case of frequent change over to Biodiesel to Diesel or vis versa.

I found no other problems and quite sure using 100% Biodiesel in Tractors have proved to be so efficient say atleast 25%more than Diesel.

I am prepared to give more feedback if you are quite serious.
Our only concern is we want to reach more consumers that is it.

Dear Sir,

What can you tell me please on research results (for WWII diesel locomotives in India?) dating back to the period:

During World War 2, when there were oil shortages researchers and industries in India investigated many natural oils and found them usable in diesel engines(Since the year 2000, Prof U Shrinivasa of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has revived the idea and successfully implemented many projects).

Thank you for your time, kind regards,

Dear Sir,

Did you notice by chance this report?
It is called:
Life Cycle Assessment of the Use of Jatropha Biodiesel in Indian Locomotives and found...
It is from Twitter.com by @energyindia, dated Oct 9th 2009.

Kind regards,

useage of biodiesel

Dear sir!

I just read your reply and thanks for the same.
I do not deny the excellent works of IIsc and everyone is aware of Prof. in this field including me.

Its for youngsters to reach to that level to do something usefully to help this nation to have its own fuel.

Useage of Biodiesel

Dear sir!

I have not capitalised this subject and would like to render selfless service to deserving people no matter whatever may the outcome.

I am of the strong opinion that making biodiesel is based on the feedstock be its fatty acids or something else.

I also consider the Biodiesel plant is an extended division of either a solvent plant or a vegetable oil refinery.

I have been working for a Hyderabad based company till June this year and unfortunately I did notice any major developments in A.P on this product except few EOU/SEZ oriented projects.

I saw people standing in que for Diesel last year in Hyderabad and hope the same is likely soon this year.
Thank you and wish you goodluck to be in this business.

Dear Sir,

What can you tell me please on gasket material and hose material (ie type+make, the standard gasket material has to replaced) when using jatropha oil for substitute diesel in a Mercedes diesel car?
comment:
Is there a corrosion problem as well for the diesel engine?
I noted several solutions for straight substitution but what the material has to be was not mentioned.
Thank you for your time, kind regards,
