Algae farms are being built today on non-arable land. Algae is renewable, has no affect on the food channel and consumes CO2. Its one solution to get off of foreign oil, become energy independent and create new jobs.

Commercial algae farms are currently being built in the US with the help from the National Algae Association. An algae production incubator can offer new algae producers free land, water and in some cases CO2. If interested, you may want to check out Home

Good news.

There are some basic problems in this subject.

1.To identify a high lipid borne specie.

2.The sunlight instead of artificial light.

3.Finding lands near sea or where there is back water.

4.CO2

5.The fixed investments in the form of lands.

People in US may do well and rightly so their compulsion in the fuel front.
Its still a long way to go in India to capitalise something purposeful with back water and waste lands surrounded in coastal areas.
