Agriculatural Land Purchase

I am From Karnataka. I am an engineer. I want to purchase a Land in my native place. After Searching a lot I got an Agricultural Land where no agricultural activities are being done. Neither I nor My parents are Agriculturists. My parents are retired Govt Employees. How can I purchase this land? Is there a way to purchase this land on my or my parents' name? I heard in Karnataka non-agriculturists cannot buy Agricultural Land... Is there a way out for me?

but govt of karnataka has ....any way no use talking..
sir,there is a certificate for it ,you please go to your tasildhar and talk to him about this ,there is also called dvdikarapatra..which is a certificate which will help you to buy land ..
