Dear Capt. Dileep.

It was a pleasure to see the Eustoma crop. First class! Maintain the crop in this condition by giving precise water and sufficient. Do the cutting of the flowers somewhat lower to make sure that the next flowers are also strong and sufficient length.
You should be able to get a second flush before the winter in September/October.
Some support is necessary and the lines along the beds may not be sufficient. Be carefull not to loose flowers because of toppling over and getting curved stems. For the second flush put a net with 15x15 cm mazes. After harvest it may be good to give a spray with captan. Spray only the lower part of the plants to avoid residue on the leaves.
The first flower comes well before the others. Break that flower out to get more flowers on the stem to open on the vase.

In regard to the young carnation crop, the plants need water depending on requirement. That means that areas of the green house that dry up quickly need some more water than areas that stay moist. Secondly they need water in such a way that the humidity of the soil is always more or less the same. At this point of time (higher temperatures and full sun) it may be necessary to give water in the morning (before 8am) and also a bit in the evening, around 5 pm.
Keep the plants dry, but sprinkle water in the pathway and on the bed sides, especially close to the side vents, where drying up goes fast.

Spray only with captan and mancozeb alternatively on a weekly basis. See to it that the liquid drips down on the foot of the plant. Use insecticides only when a pest is noticed. When the plants are about 1 foot high spray every 10 days with acephate or fipronil.

Put a formol mat in front of the carnation planting to avoid carrying over foot diseases from the old green house. Keep the green house clean by not throwing plant material on the floor while pinching or de-budding. Have bucket at hand to throw the material herein. Throwing it on the floor and than collecting it double work.

Hope that these notes may help you with a successful crop.
