In southern states the cost of production for a liter of milk is about 25-28 per lt.and where family members are engaged in the dairy and one hired , daily wage farm worker .
If you are selling milk to milk societies the price is 34-36 per lt.
If you are selling directly to the consumers it can be from 45-65 per lt.
If curd and ghee also made it can go up to 90-100 per kg .
This is the tentative turn over of a small family run dairy farm with 15 animals including calves , and considering approx . 10 litre per day milk yield .
Post stabilisation ( after 2-3 yrs ) profitability is approximately Rs. 1.5-2.0 for every rupee invested from fresh milk and no value addition .
No idea if your startup is medium size ( 25-50 animals ) or small ( 10-25 animals ) . Semi intensive or free range dairy is profitable rather than factory type dairy farm .
It financially viable to appoint a manager in medium size dairy but for small dairy think and plan twice ?!
