Jakhrana breed is distributed in the area around Jakhrnaa village near Behror in Alwar districts of Rajasthan. The breed is spread over a limited area and the population size is small.
Average daily milk yield varies from 2.0-3.0 kg for a lactation length of about 180-200 days
Jamunapari is the best dairy goat in India. They are the tallest breed and commonly known as the Pari (Angel) in its area of origin - Uttar Pradesh because of its majestic appearance. On an average lactation yields 1.5 litres/day. Milk yields increased up to the end of two months and then started to decline with an average lactation length of 260 days.
Some of the pure goat breed available in west bengal are i.e. Barbeay , Shirohi , Jamunapari , Jakhraana , Kota , Malwa ,Sojat , Black Bengal , Betal , Totapari etc.
Tentative pure breed live animal weight rate ( ex location, West Bengal) Rs 500-600 / kg and cross breed variety are available is Rs 450-500 / kg
Backyard small livestock production, country chicken and duck farming; indigenous cow, goat and pig rearing ; pond based fishery etc. are the very common and traditional practice in almost every rural household of West Bengal for subsidiary income .These prices you quote - are they available with you?
