Please suggest no. of plants can be planted in 30 cents land. I am planning to plant Mango trees.
Banganapalli, Himapasanth, Alphonsa and please suggest other varieties as well.
Let me know from where I can get the saplings required along with no. of saplings can be planted in 30 cents land.
My land is located on the Vandalur - Kelambakkam road.

Normal Mango plants require 15-30 ft distance between them. Those varieties that grow very big and have wide foliage spread will require 25-30 ft distance. Others with less foliage spread can be planted at 15-20 ft distance. 30 cents means 13068 Sq Ft only. If you plant the low foliage spread varieties, you can plant around 58 trees (13068/ 15 x 15 ft: 225 Sq ft = 58 No.). If you go for wide foliage varieties, you can plant around 15 trees only (13068/30 ft x 30 ft: 900 Sq Ft = 15 No) Whatever the length and breadth and elevation levels of your land, this is applicable. You can grow many high value short term and long term crops (herbs, spices, vegetables, fruits etc) in the gaps and also under shade of the trees when they are small and grow big with wide foliage spread.
