Hi, Welcome to dairy farming. Develop Fodder considerable quantity to have balanced green diet before bring animals to your herd.
My recommendation will be like, Maize, African Tall Maize, Sudan grass (sorgham), leucern, cowpea, Agassi , Moringa, etc.

Murrah buffaloes are available in Haryana State costing around Rs.80000-100000/- giving 8-10 Lts per day.
Jaffarbady buffaloes are available in Gujarath state costing around 100000-110000/- yielding 15-20 Ltrs of milk per day (Maximum 22 lts)

Government scheme is available for 10 animals with a unit cost of Rs.6.00 Lakhs for small and marginal farmers only. Subsidy is Rs.1.50 Lkahs

If 30 animals are are to be inducted the unit cost will be around Rs.40.00 Lakhs , out of which farmer has to bear Rs.10 Lakhs as margin and Rs.30.00 can be taken as term loan.

hi anada rao sir i am a govt bank employee. joined 1 month bank .i am from srikakulam district .my father and brother in law are farmers.but they cultivating paddy only
i want them to establish dairy initially with small unit with 6 cattle mixed 3 cows 3 buffaloes we have land 1 and half acre beside bypass road for establishing unit and 8 acres at other place all fertile land only we produce paddy 1001 .laddu biyyam low cost rice 80kg 1000rs only .in that we can harvest fodder.my father as a farmer .he has some knowledge on cows.but if import buffelos and cows like murra surti and gir then can they viable in my place and what other things to do .how to fertile them can we use local bulls for fertility and tell me about the scheme you told 10 animals subsidy 1.50 lakh. for 6 animals how much i can get.
how much amount capital i need .i am a new officer in bank i dont know about these schemes

Dear Sri Kowshi Rao, the particulars of onging DED scheme of NABARD are furnished herebelow:

You can approach a commercial bank for term loan of Rs.5.40 Lakhs and your margin will be Rs.0.60 lakhs , for the Term Loan you have to mortgage agricultural land or a vacant site valued at Rs.7.00 Lakhs .
Dairy Entrepreneurship development (DED) subsidy program of GOI is being implemented by the NABARD which is yet to be announced for this year. Under this scheme 25 % subsidy is available for Rs.1.50 lakhs out of the unit cost of Rs.6.00 Lakhs. Initially the bank will release for 5 animals after six month anohter 5 animals. You can induct cows like Gir and ongole (indigenous cows after wards) . Gir cows milk is highly demanded as it is believed that on consumption of Gir cow milk will be helpful producing insulin in the body . The ongole breed cow will give very good bulls will fetch high income in future.

Dear sri Koushik rao, Subsidy is not available for 30 animals. ( more than 10) but 25 % subsidy is available on milking machines and bulk cooling maichine if required.We will prepare project report for 30 animals:

Please inform 30 animals are cows or buffaloes
Location of the farm
Extent of land owned
Security offered to the bank
Irrigation facility is available or not.

Nabard will give subsidy for 10 animals only under DED scheme . The unit cost is Rs.6.00 lakhs and subsidy 25%, Margin 10%, The DED scheme has to be renewed for 2017-18 by the NABARD

the price of buffalos are different different by their milk yield,if you want big and heavy buffalo which gave milk 18ltr minimum,so you perchase him in 90 thousand .if you buy 14 or 15ltr milk buffalo so you can perchase him 80 thousand rupees,more information plz contact me,8901074330
