Dear members,
I need help on cultivating melia dubia in my native village in erode district tamilnadu. We have nearly 10 acres of very dry land.
There is no source of water in most of the land, except for a 3 acre having little availability of water. The land is suitable for agriculture only during rain and people there used to cultivate some fodder crops for cattle.
Is it possible to cultivate melia dubia in such a land and if so what will be the approximate cost per acre and what type of maintanance is needed for the saplings? ( We are planning to fence the land totally and visit once or twice in a week. Will that be ok?)
Kindly help us on this and if melia dubia is not possible, what are the other options, preferably long term crop without water, since the land is not being used for any purpose now, but it has good red soil.
Thanks
