how much of land is required for fish farming .. Small Scale
Hi daryll,
Even a 1/2 acre is good enough to start small scale fish farming. Tilapia is a better choice for small scale as it is a fast breeder and you can harvest often while carp varieties it is better to go for atleast 1 acre or more and can be harvested from sixth month onwards.
If you want to restrict the amount spent on feeds, it is better to go for fresh cow dung, chicken manure etc.
One thing to understand is the more availability for movement allows better growth in fishes.

I am planning for the said fish farming in the not east prt of indai , shillong , where -in its a hill station and its rains .
So inland fishing with fresh water would be suitable or pond .
So you say an acre of land is best suited .
