White sandalwood is also called Santalum Album, it's Indian sandalwood which you can get from most of the nurseries now.

What is the Difference between white & red sandal wood

Dear Friends,

Please explain what is the difference between red & white sandal wood...

Regarding Its growth, yield, harvesting time, marketting oppurtunities, price difference, soil types, irrigation, maintenance, legal formalities and which will be more suitable to Tamil Nadu (Perambalur District) climate.

Many add now a days like multi crores in 15 years (from sandal wood plant)... is it true & real or fake?

Now a days so many cheating business like Emu, herbal medicine plant etc... (many of small farmers lost their low income by investing on these cheating deals)

Please, senior members and knowldge people advice on my above request.

If sandal wood palnt also fake, may be we can save few of farmers and their investments by reading this post.

We appreciate your enthusiasm to protect the Environment & Farmers.
Brief Note:
1.White Sandal is a Precious crop & even we can compare the same as Golden Investment.
2.Why Government has lift ban on Sandal & made it for All is the first question?Because of mismatch of demand & supply.
3.Why Government is providing Subsidy for Sandal plant?If Government feel Sandal is fake & no use than they will never give Subsidy.
4.Regards to Red Sandal we are not much promoting but in future if Central lift ban on Red sandal exports than price will be sky rocket.
