Olive farming

Sir,
I have around 10 acres farming land in U.P. I do farming of sugercan & wheat etc. I m interested in Olive tree plantation. I m based in Baghpat (U.P.) it is possiable for me to do olive cultivation at my farm land in Baghpat (U.P.) can you guide me as to what kind of land , climate etc is suitable for Oives in India , especially around U.P. ? which kind of trees are most suited here ? Have these been succesfully planted in India ?are there any good consultants available ?

I don't think U.P climate is suitable for olive farming. Olives are a mediterranean
crop requires wet winters and dry summer. But now an israeli technology has come up that can grow olives in desert region. Our govt has started a project of planting few lacs trees in area of rajasthan

u may try agriculture deptt in your area for consultation. they may have some beneficial scheme for taht
