Where is the demand?

I have been seeing topics around Emu farming for the last 1-2 years. There was a lot of craze for it about 1-1.5 years ago but till date :

- I have not seen any hotel or restaurant in India serve Emu meat
- I have not seen any spa or doctors office in Western or Eastern cultures sell Emu oil for it's healing properties
- I have not seen any shop in the West or India carry any time of Emu leather products.

My experience applies to India, UK, US and South Africa. I still see some newbie farmer on this forum trying to get into Emu farming. Before investing a single rupee, please identify a few regular customers. Goto their shops, talk to them about their demand. This is my advice.

There were a lot of people who are willing to sell eggs and chicks. It may be because there is more money in selling eggs and young chicks than raising Emus and selling meat, leather, oil, etc.

Think about it. I may be completely wrong but that's how I feel...:)
