Ratoon croping of Banana

Ratoon cropping simply means the second and subsequent crop from the suckers.This practice is seen in banana and sugar cane crops.The cost of cultivation is much less and yield some times is better. In banana of late we are finding it difficult to manage this second crop due to build up the vector(insect) load leading to spread of virus diseases, similarly fungi spore load also increases. hence plant protection becomes important.Depending on this yield is expected.

sir,
in Tissue culture G9 banana ratoon cultivation is possible and very economy fo farmers.As per inscet/virus manangement i simlier of first 7 fresh crop .By applying virus controll pesticide kindly add 10 Ml Neem oil and 5 ml soap oil while spraying the banana.The application of pesticide to the banana trees are not sufficient .kindly spray the solution of neem oil and soap oil along with pesticide in the boundaries of banana filed i.e even the grass are also psrayed with solution in the boundaries.
