Ms. Priyanka Rani is doing Ph.D. ( Entomology) at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Ms. Priyanka Rani says pollinators ( specially bees) play an important role in crop pollination (around three quarter-75%) and production of major crops which are the basis of nutritional food security. Pollinators population is declining below the levels required to support the pollination services due to the various factors such as climate change, habitat loss and fragmentation, land management techniques, agricultural and industrial pollutants, parasites and diseases, introduction of alien species etc which are key factors to pollinators population decline.
So the topic will cover the pollinators, their significance in food production, their decline: causes and conservation practices. To know more view https://bit.ly/3C0XtyU
